Context of the Project
- The project responds to the lack of vocational training of university students and risk of their unemployment, respectively the problem of finding a suitable employer after graduation. Such an employer requires from job applicants sufficient practical skills with respect to their profession and key competencies in terms of their aptitude, including excellent language skills and intercultural perception.
- UP students are well aware of these circumstances, looking for ways to obviate the aforementioned handicap. They find the solution in international work placements, for which they show great interest.
- The existing processes and tools for the management of placements and their quality however cease to absorb the constantly increasing demand and thus perform their function. Some such tools are even entirely absent – a small number of placements did not require them and the incurred needs were treated individually.
- The project eliminates these shortcomings by developing a unified and coherent system that shall sufficiently saturate demand and ensure qualitative development of this agenda in order to tap fully the potential of placements for all parties involved. Its importance has been confirmed by six out of eight UP faculties which are involved in the project.
